Flat Rolled Product (FRP)

UADNL setting up the advanced manufacturing facilities with latest technology & is poised to produce high quality Aluminum alloys for aerospace, defence and other infrastructure requirements across the industrial spectrum. This facility is envisaged to produce Flat Rolled Products (FRP) of 60, 000 Tons per annum with provision to double the capcity. The FRP products comprise of Plates, Sheets and Coils. Plates (T X Wd X L), Sheets (T X Wd X L) and Coils (T X Wd and ID & OD) manufactured in the facility have wide range of verities in weight and dimensions. Weight and dimensions can always be customized as per the requirement/ accordingly, nevertheless a brief description on the same is mentioned below,

UADNL sights and will always act to achieve excellence in all of the manufacturing processes and materials quality. UADNL tends to manufacture heat treatable and non-heat treatable FRPs of best quality products as per industry requirement. A brief description on them is illustrated below,

  • 2XXX Series

Aluminum(Al) and Copper (Cu) alloys (copper additions ranging from 0.7 to 6.8wt%) and often added with Magnesium (mg) as well, and are high strength, high performance alloys. These are heat treatable & age hardened alloys that are used for aerospace, space and defence applications. Al-Cu based alloys containing Lithium (Li) also represent 2xxx series and used for aerospace applications.

  • 5XXX Series

Aluminium(Al) and Manganese (Mg) alloys (Magnesium additions ranging from 0.2 to 6.2wt%) and have higher strength of non-heat treatable alloys. This alloy series is readily wieldable, having good corrosion resistance, and for these reasons they are preferred in marine atmosphere and outdoor exposure structural applications such as shipbuilding, transportation, pressure vessels, bridges and buildings.

  • 6XXX Series

Aluminium(Al) and Manganese (Mg) & Silicon (Si) alloys (Magnesium and Silicon ranging from 0.3 to 1.5wt%). These alloys area also heat treatable and possesses good formability, machinability, corrosion resistance and weld ability with medium strength and for these reasons, they are used mostly in transport, building, marine and heating applications.

  • 7XXX Series

Aluminium(Al) and Zinc (Zn) alloys (Zinc addition ranging from 0.8 to 12 wt.%) and comprise some of the highest strength aluminum alloys.  These alloys possess very strong “heat treatable” properties and can be strengthened through precipitation hardening based on the combination of zinc (~ 4–8 wt. %) and magnesium (~1–3 wt. %).  Because of combinations of higher strength, corrosion resistance, and fracture toughness, these alloys are widely used in aerospace, space exploration, military and nuclear applications.

  • 8XXX

Aluminium (Al) and Lithium (Li) alloys are recently developed and can be distinguished characteristics of reducing density & increasing modulus when het treated with Al helps in achieving utmost strength and suits best for aerospace applications.
